Hi everyone,
I'm not the master of German language so hope we can have this discussion in English. I own a precious VW LT31 1983 (a caravan) and I've started to encounter following issues with its electronics:
Whenever I click the blinker to the left, it won't blink (only alarm sound will start to yell), but if I turn on the emergency blinkers, both left and right blink just fine. Fuses are brand new. Should I possibly locate some kind of controlling circuit of the electronics? Could anyone please give me a hint where should I look for a such? Or do people have any other ideas? (I guess I'll start with giving the wires some CRC electronic cleaner when I get to the store.)
There's also another similar issue in the same car: left front head light (driving light) turns on only if the full (night) headlights are on. Otherwise the left headlight won't go on. Little parking lights go on normally.
I thought that would be enough of troubles, but no, there's more: The starting of the car has weakened noticeably, the starting motor is trying to do its best, but starting takes much of time and effort. Possibly because of the same electronic issue also the pre-heater of the diesel motor has been disconnected? The indicator lamp of the pre-heater still works.
The front lamp issue started few months back, and the blinker and starting problems I noticed only now. Could anyone please give suggestions where to look for possible causes for these troubles? Especially if someone knows the location of an electronic controlling circuit of the driving lights and blinkers (not the fuse box) that information would be valuable. And any other suggestions will also be taken into notion.
I appreciate all the help anyone could provide. Thank you! Change or repair (easy to take apart), Emergency Flasher Switch to fix Directional Signal problem, since wiring of Directional signal goes through contacts on the Emergency Flasher switch. Also check Fuse #6 & Fuse #8.
