>The problem is the sealing of the small lever at the bottom of the injection pump, the one you use for easy cold starting. Unfortunately you have to remove the injection pump to change the sealing because otherwise you cannot reach there. This also means you will loose the setting of the injection timing and you have to readjust it after putting the injection pump back in. If you don't have the measurement tool, you can set the engine to top dead centre of cylinder 1 (there is a marking on the fly wheel), and make precise markings of how the pump is sitting compared to its holding bracket and how the belt pulleys are positioned (exact angle against engine as reference). This will be sufficient to get the engine running again, and afterwards you can drive to a workshop to have them adjust the timing exactly.
>It would make sense, once the injection pump is removed, to change all sealings of the pump completely. But for this you need much know-how and some special tools. If you don't have access to that, you can just change the O-ring sealing at the cold start lever.

Ok, makes sense. Thanks for the answers. I'll probably have to try it in spring/summer time then. It's cold outside now (the car is in the parking lot) and I have plenty of things to do, so I have to wait till then.
